2009 DWIFF Call For Entries

The Second Annual Detroit Windsor International Film Festival is calling all entries for this year’s event.

DWIFF is a four-day celebration of the art of cinema, happens June 25-28, 2009 in both neighboring cities.  The festival will exhibit short and feature length films in narrative, documentary and animated forms. It is open to all  filmmakers and is not limited to only recent productions.

Michigan Production Update – January 27, 2009

Detroit Convention & Visitors Bureau launches new web site www.FilmDetroit.com

Michigan’s new film Incentives have created over 3,000 new jobs with total wages reaching $57 million in 2008.

This past weekend saw Lifetime’s network premier of Prayers For Bobby, which was shot in Metro Detroit.

Rourke’s Golden Globe Prompts Weinstein Co. to Revive Detroit Based ‘Killshot’

Thanks to Mickey Rourke’s Golden Globe-winning performance in “The Wrestler,” the Weinstein Co. film Killshot isn’t a dead duck. It could even be called the “phoenix from Phoenix.” (more)
