WJBK Fox 2 News Detroit has footage of actor Al Pacino and famed director Barry Levinson on the set of You Don’t Know Jack, currently filming in and around Oakland County.
As we’ve all suspected, the stars of the upcoming HBO biopic You Don’t Know Jack are in Metro Detroit this week shooting scenes for the movie despite shooting several weeks in New York.
Actor Danny Huston was spotted outside the Old Wayne County Building around 11 a.m. clad in a suit and overcoat and clutching a briefcase. He was sporting the shaggy blond hairdo that’s a style signature of his character, attorney Geoffrey Fieger, who famously defended Kevorkian.
Earlier in the morning, Pacino and Huston filmed scenes of their characters being interviewed by the press. [read more]
Word is that the upcoming Jack Kevorkian HBO biopic You Don’t Know Jack will be shooting in Troy, Michigan the week of October 14. The film stars Al Pacino, Susan Sarandon, John Goodman and Danny Huston as famed Detroit area lawyer Geoffrey Fieger. The movie is currently filming in the city of Rosebank, New York.

It’s kind of funny when you see so many recent movies making Michigan stand in as the backdrop for somewhere else like Spokane, Houston, San Francisco or Tennessee. However, what is even more strange is when you see the city of Rosebank, New York play the role of Royal Oak, Michigan in the upcoming HBO biopic on Dr. Jack Kevorkian. The production of You Don’t Know Jack; which stars Academy Award winning actor Al Pacino, is already well underway. Not really sure why this movie is not filming in Michigan?
Variety reports that Al Pacino will play Michigan native “Dr. Death” Jack Kevorkian in a new HBO biopic film. Though it has not been announced yet, it is likely that this movie will be shoot in Metro Detroit, specifically Royal Oak. No word yet on who will play famed Metro Detroit lawyer Geoffrey Fieger who has appeared on reality TV show Power of Attorney, and was opposing counsel in an episode of NBC’s The Law Firm. On a side note, Fieger’s brother Doug is the frontman for the 80’s rock quartet The Knack.
Caught in the Crossfire, is a new movie currently being shot in Grand Rapids Michigan starring rapper 50 Cent, Adam Rodriguez (CSI: Miami) and Chris Klein (American Pie). The movie will be directed by East Grand Rapids native Brian A. Miller.
