Gere To Film “State of the Union” In Detroit

My sources tell me that the upcoming Richard Gere and Annette Bening movie State of The Union will be filming in Detroit this spring. What is most interesting is that the 1948 original was also shot in Detroit at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel.

Reuniting the Director and Stars of Pretty Woman and Runaway Bride, State of the Union is a romantic comedy directed by Garry Marshall. It is based on the Pulitzer prize-winning play by Howard Lindsay & Russel Crouse. This film is a remake of State of the Union, a 1948 film directed by Frank Capra, starring Spencer Tracy & Katharine Hepburn
