Lt. Governor and gubernatorial candidate John Cherry recently blogged about the success of the Michigan Film Incentives. Cherry was on hand yesterday in Highland Park for the announcement of a new feature length, Danny Glover film being shot in and about the city.

There were several sightings last year of actor Danny Glover around town. Expect to see a lot more of Glover as producers announce the production of the upcoming new movie called Highland Park.

Much like last years hit Gran Torino (which was also filmed in Highland Park), the film will star the actual city of Highland Park back in its prime as one of the most prosperous cities in the country.  As part of the filming, crews will perform a significant restoration on the city’s library which had to close in March of 2002.
