Local Reporters Land Roles In Highland Park Movie

The movie Highland Park was shooting at Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester today. The movie stars Parker Posey, Rockmond Dunbar and Danny Glover, with minor roles going to two local WXYZ Action News anchors Diana Lewis and Vic Faust. This is not the first movie for Diana Lewis, she also had a minor roles playing a reporter in such movies as Rocky, The Twilight Zone, The Squeeze, The Monster Squad and Rocky V.

Lt. Governor and gubernatorial candidate John Cherry recently blogged about the success of the Michigan Film Incentives. Cherry was on hand yesterday in Highland Park for the announcement of a new feature length, Danny Glover film being shot in and about the city.

Danny Glover To Film Movie In Highland Park

There were several sightings last year of actor Danny Glover around town. Expect to see a lot more of Glover as producers announce the production of the upcoming new movie called Highland Park.

Much like last years hit Gran Torino (which was also filmed in Highland Park), the film will star the actual city of Highland Park back in its prime as one of the most prosperous cities in the country. As part of the filming, crews will perform a significant restoration on the city’s library which had to close in March of 2002.

Metro Detroit Celebrity Sightings – June 5, 2009

The Detroit News is reporting several celebrity sightings around town:

Actor Robert De Niro at the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) yesterday. De Niro is currently both shooting and producing two separate movies in Southeast Michigan.
Actor Thomas Jane was seen shooting the opening sequence for the upcoming HBO series Hung at Detroit’s Small Plates’ outdoor patio.
Brove is looking to shoot the next installment of their TV series in Metro Detroit and call it Real Housewives of Oakland County.
Actor Danny Glover was recently seen with a tableful of Hollywood producers at Bacco in Southfield working on a slate of new films project to be shot in Metro Detroit.
